Eastman Blaze AA Evaluations

The Eastman Blaze is the AA organization for players registered to play A softball in Seine River Minor Ball, South East Girls Softball League and Springfield Minor Softball Association.

Our goal is to provide athletes the opportunity to extend their softball season and offer some exposure to an increased level of competition. We aim to provide respectful, knowledgeable and committed coaches whose focus is on fun, development and nurturing each athletes passion for softball.

In 2024 we fielded teams in the U11, U13, U15 and U17 age categories. For 2025 we will field teams in U11, U13, U15, U17 and hopefully multiple teams at U11.

The AA category is a development program consisting of regional teams that practice and compete vs other regional teams both during the A season and once the A season concludes. There is a Showcase tournament June 13-15, 2025 and AA Provincials July 25-27, 2025 at which point the AA season concludes.

Players must be registered and play with their community A level organization to be eligible to play AA as well.

During the A season, all AA organizations can practice and/or compete in exhibition games but are limited to Fridays and/or Sundays after 6pm. Once the A season concludes, AA can practice or play on any day of the week.

In 2002, the communities of Lorette, Ile des Chenes, St. Adolphe, Grande Pointe and Vermette amalgamated their baseball/softball clubs to form SEINE RIVER MINOR BALL (SRMB).

SRMB was formed to give the children aged 4 to 18 in the surrounding communities an opportunity to play baseball/softball within their community area, in their own age group and at a level comparable to their abilities. In 2011 SRMB expanded their constitution to include Junior age players.

All of the communities that represent SRMB are within 30 minutes driving distance from Winnipeg and each other. The SRMB softball club plays in the Bonivital League in south Winnipeg and the hardball club plays in the Carillon League in the Steinbach area.

In 2010 SRMB took the necessary steps to set-up an in-house league for the Learn to Play (LTP) Program for our youngest players, allowing them to hold all of their practices and play all of their games in Ile des Chenes.

SRMB home playing field is the Optimist Park in Ile des Chenes which has seven diamonds - 3 softball and 4 hardball. The Optimist Park has a modern canteen, bathroom and equipment storage facilities, roofed dug-outs and fenced fields.
